Can you share some of your career journey to date?
After graduating from UQ Gatton, I commenced as a Trainee with the former IAMA business, working in the pasture and animal health market at the Gympie branch. Following this I accepted a Branch Manager position with Wesfarmers Dalgety Meandarra and then on to Quilpie in Western Queensland. Following almost 6 years as a Branch Manager, my career took a brief turn away from Agriculture and I worked in the beverage industry for four years in sales and business development. In 2007 I rejoined Landmark as a Branch Manager at the Charleville branch for five years before moving to Toowoomba and then onto the South-East Region as Livestock Manager based in Melbourne. In 2013 I relocated back to Queensland with my family and moved into the General Managers role that I have now enjoyed for almost 10 years.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy following a range of sports including Rugby League, Cricket, Water Sports and a day at the Horse Races. These days I enjoy watching my kids playing sport as well as socialising with friends and family.
Why should someone consider a career in agriculture?
I am fortunate that I have had the opportunity to grow up in Agriculture surrounded by fantastic people and great rural communities. Along with contributing to the success of our food and fibre producing customers, it is the relationships you develop and the people you meet that help make our industry so rewarding. As a career, agriculture in Australia offers enormous diversity across so many geographies and industries with world leading practises and technology.
