Nutrien employees turn blue and raise over $50,000 for Dolly’s Dream
Fundraisers were held at Nutrien branches across the country to help raise awareness of the impacts of bullying and spread the message of kindness in their communities. Barbeques, morning teas, auctions and raffles were just some of the fundraising activities coordinated by branches and teams.
Nutrien Casterton took the plunge this year - literally - with team members jumping into the Glenelg River to raise over $2,300 for the cause. Nutrien Casterton Real Estate Specialist, Sarah Thompson said this cause resonates strongly with rural and regional communities across Australia.
“Dolly’s family are from regional Australia and have been through something that no family anywhere should have to go through. On Do It For Dolly Day, we are proud to be creating change and uniting our community to raise awareness of the issues of online safety and youth mental health.”
The Nutrien Ag Solutions Katherine team brought the blue sausage sizzle back for another year to feed community members and staff, who raised almost $10,000 through a community auction and raffle.
Katherine Branch Manager, Ben Coutts said the cause is close to his community’s heart and they’re proud to have been able to support Dolly’s family and Dolly’s Dream foundation from the beginning.
“Dolly’s family are part of our community up here. We want to do everything we can to spread their message and break the silence on bullying. On Do It for Dolly Day, we are reminding everyone to speak, even if their voice shakes. Our team has focused this year on speaking to their children, family and friends about the importance of being kind and having the tough conversations about bullying.”
