Working in merchandise and sales at the Nutrien Ag Solutions Tamworth branch in NSW’s north east, Jackson Dening, and his good friend Brendon Crawley are known as ‘The Cowboys’ on the revamped television show which aired episode one on Monday 1st February 2021.

Jackson says the decision to apply to the show was spur of the moment.

“We couldn’t believe we were fortunate enough to be selected to go on The Amazing Race Australia. My son was only two months old when I had to leave for filming so I’m just so grateful for my family and Nutrien for supporting me to take part in such an incredible experience,” Jackson says.

We maintained a very positive mindset throughout the competition and hopefully we have represented country people with integrity and have been able to show our city neighbours why only the tough live out on the land.

Jackson spends his time outside of work competing in the rodeo circuit, travelling and spending time with his young family.

“I have lived in Tamworth my whole life and am proud to be part of this community. Supporting our hardworking and passionate local farmers and families every day in my job is so rewarding,” Jackson says.

The show was filmed during COVID-19 last year, so all competitors stayed within the Australian borders.

“It was such a great opportunity to see Australia and meet interesting people,” Jackson says.

“Brendon and I are both very competitive, so we really enjoyed taking part in a wide range of physical and strategic challenges.”

“We both have young families, so more than anything we just wanted to be good role models for our sons and make our communities proud – so I hope you enjoy watching it at home.”
