Nutrien’s Katherine Branch teamed up with the local community this month to raise an incredible $177,000 for the local branch of the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association (ICPA – Katherine).

The Katherine ICPA committee is made up of a small group of parents focused on providing equal opportunities for children in rural, regional and remote areas.

Nutrien Katherine Branch Manager Ben Coutts said over the years Nutrien has developed a strong partnership with the local ICPA through annual fundraising support and sponsorships.

“Each year we hold an auction at the Katherine Show and sell goods donated from businesses in and around Katherine. Each year we gain further momentum, last year we raised around $150,000 for ICPA and we are thrilled to say we’ve hit a new fundraising record this year at $177,000,” said Ben.

“I was an ICPA kid in the Gulf in the 80s and 90s and my Mum was a founding member of the Barkly ICPA – so it’s a cause very close to my heart.

“We are also proud to support the Nutrien Boarding School Grant which is an annual program that assists with the costs associated with educating children via boarding away from home,” said Ben.

Nutrien General Manager (North, Region West) Andrew Lindsay says Ben and the team are invaluable members of their local community and should be very proud of their impact.

“Nutrien’s Katherine branch raises the bar year after year and always pulls out all the stops to support the community in which they live and work. This was the first time I have attended the event and I was blown away by our involvement in supporting our clients and the local community. Not only through our Katherine team, but the neighbouring Darwin branch also send staff to assist in the smooth organisation of the event. Congratulations to everyone involved in such a successful fundraising initiative,” said Andrew.

The auction attracted another big crowd this year, with Dane Pearce from Nutrien’s Qld Stud Stock team behind the gavel. Nutrien extends our thanks to all the suppliers, bidders, volunteers, staff and clients who all pitched in to give back to children living in the Top End.
