Peter Cabot, Nutrien Ag Solutions Wagga Wagga, has been elected President of the Australian Livestock and Property Agents Association (ALPA).

ALPA is the peak industry body representing livestock and property agency businesses across Australia.

An accomplished stock and station agent, Peter is considered one of the finest auctioneers of sheep, lamb and cattle in the industry.

“My family has a long history in the industry, my father Gordon Cabot was actually Vice President of the NSW Stock and Station Agents Association for two terms. I grew up in Goulburn, NSW, and from an early age was exposed to the industry through my father’s business Cabot and Laing, which was later purchased by Landmark,” says Mr Cabot.

“I commenced my career with Dalgety in the mailroom and then moved through the Riverina in various positions with Landmark before accepting my position as Livestock Manager with Nutrien Ag Solutions Wagga Wagga.”

It’s an absolute honour to hold the position of President of ALPA. The industry has endured a challenging 18 months, but the agency business across Australia is resilient, innovative, and have been able to adapt really quickly to each curveball thrown our way.

"The industry has never looked better with great commodity prices and fantastic seasons across the country – the short term outlook is very bright which is good news for our producers," says Mr Cabot.

Congratulations Peter on your recent appointment as President of ALPA.
