A note from Kelly Freeman on International Women's Day

As we celebrate and recognise International Women’s Day this week, I want to acknowledge that, as a business, we aren’t always getting it right when it comes to gender equity.

We know we don’t have a balance of women in leadership roles. We also know this lack of balance contributes to our gender pay gap.

But our commitment to change is real.

We are determined to build a business culture that treats everyone with respect, always. We know women have a vital role to play in the success of Australian agriculture, and it starts with an inclusive, diverse, safe, and positive work environment. We also know that actions speak louder than words and that we will be judged by what we do, as much as what we say.

We will continue to listen to feedback, implement meaningful change, and recommit every day, to doing better.

We’re also proud of the progress we’ve made so far. We’ve just marked the fifth year of our Nutrien Women in Leadership program and we’re seeing the results of that with more women taking up leadership roles in our business than ever before. We’ve extended our parental leave cover and we’ve set targets for a percentage of female employees and women in leadership roles.

We have many talented people in our business who are focused on the success and progress of agriculture and farmers. We owe it to them, to our future workforce, and to our customers, to make sure we are constantly building a culture we can be proud of at Nutrien.

So happy International Women’s Day to everyone. I hope you feel welcome and included in agriculture, every day of the year.
