Top auctioneers compete for a spot in the ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition

Auctioneers from across Victoria and South Australia have competed for a spot in the 2021 ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition.

Five auctioneers with Nutrien Ag Solutions have been selected to compete in the 2021 ALPA Victoria Young Auctioneers Competition.

The finalists were listed in the top ten after a two-day coaching session with industry experts which included a mock auction.

  • Alister Bright, Nutrien Ararat
  • Ryan Carpenter, Nutrien Ballarat
  • Jack Ginnane, Nutrien Leongatha
  • Joshua McDonald, Nutrien Warrnambool

Wade Ivone (Myrtleford) and Will Jennings (Barnawartha) also completed the ALPA auctioneers school in Echuca last week where they both had the opportunity to further develop their skills and selling techniques.

Nutrien Ag Solutions South East Region Livestock Lead Adam Mountjoy said the competition attracted the best auctioneers from across the state.

"Jack  and Josh have both previously won the Victoria state finals in 2020 and 2019 respectively so it’s great that they have continued into this years final. It will be the first appearance for Alistair and Ryan in a state final, whilst Ned has competed in NSW previously," said Mr Mountjoy.

The Victoria state final will be held in September this year.

Meanwhile, Jack Guy (Bordertown) and Jordy Heinrich (Kingscote) competed for the South Australian title at the Naracoorte Regional Livestock Exchange this week and both impressed the judges with their skills and passion for the industry.

"The Nutrien Ag Solutions team is extremely proud of the efforts of all of our auctioneers and wish the competitors through to the next round all the very best in this years event," said Mr Mountjoy.
