Students immerse themselves in agriculture thanks to community grants funding

Belltrees Public School has a long history of leading the way in teaching primary-aged students about sustainability and agriculture.

This year, staff, students, and community members have been able to get firsthand experience in sustainable agricultural practices through an immersion excursion thanks to funding provided by the Nutrien Ag Solutions Community Grants program.

Participants in the excursion visited local farms and agribusinesses in the Belltrees and surrounding areas to learn about regenerative and sustainable agriculture, low-stress stock handling, agriforestry, and farm management.

Shane Robert’s of Belltrees Public school said the students ‘delved deep into hands-on activities, showing experiments to better understand the land’ and ‘great understanding of better ways to manage properties.

‘Huge thanks to Nutrien Ag Solutions Scone for your support in making this opportunity available to our staff, students, and community members," Robert's said.

Applications for the 2022 round of the Nutrien Ag Solutions Community Grants program open on the 12th of July. For more information Nutrien Ag Solutions Community Grants Program
