"He was incredibly passionate about his career and his clients," Michelle said. "It certainly wasn't a career that I consciously went searching for, it just naturally progressed for me, which I think is why I feel so comfortable in my roles."
Michelle now has more than 20 years’ experience in the agriculture industry and 15 years with Nutrien Ag Solutions and its legacy brands.
Reflecting on her career and the confidence she has grown in her role with Nutrien Harcourts, Michelle attributes her success to her mentors' belief in her, both within Nutrien Harcourts and personally.
Michelle firmly believes "from belief comes confidence," and without it, she wouldn't be where she is today.
Determined not to be defined by her gender, Michelle set out early in her career to break the gender bias in the agriculture and real estate industries and prove she would be every bit as successful as her male counterparts.
"I have always had great support and confidence from my management at Nutrien Harcourts. I also credit my resilience. When I was faced with preconceived ideas or gender bias in the early days of my career, I kept focused on the job at hand, and by the end of the conversation, my gender was not part of the equation."
When reflecting on her career and time in the agricultural industry, Michelle has noted there is change and movement in the right direction.
"I can see the real estate and agriculture industries are becoming more progressive with breaking down the gender bias and encouraging more women to consider a career in agriculture. I’ve found it’s so important you always back yourself and surround yourself with people who empower you," Michelle says.
Michelle has received well-deserved recognition for her incredible contributions over the past two decades with several industry awards to her name, including the 2018 Landmark Harcourts Adrian Copping Perpetual Trophy for demonstrating the highest standard on all segments of real estate professionalism.
