Powered by our people: Bronte Lloyd, Animal Production Specialist

Bronte Lloyd attributes her confidence in her own for her success in the agriculture industry. Growing up on a sheep and cattle station, she has always worked in the industry and her passion was there was from a young age.

“My upbringing has also had a huge impact on my professional life,” Bronte reports. “I grew up doing what men did and having men work for and with me. I’ve never felt I wasn’t able to do something because of my gender.”

“I had fantastic support from my family growing up. I was one of four children with two older sisters and many strong independent women in my life. The opinions of women in our household and family were always valued. Working next to men helped me build a foundation of communication and help me in my current role at Nutrien.”

Bronte knows she has the right experience and knowledge to offer Nutrien clients value, and her gender does not define this.

“The biggest impact on my success has been never doubting my abilities. I run my own cattle breeding and backgrounding business and I have tried and tested every piece of advice I give to my clients. Being able to have first-hand experience and knowledge is a huge benefit.”

“At Nutrien, I meet hundreds of people every year just trying to improve their businesses and livestock health and I understand the passion and pressure that is placed on people when the business bottom line is concerned.”

It’s important for Bronte to make an impact on the industry and her client’s businesses.

“I found that there was a gap in the flow of knowledge of nutrition and animal health from universities to the farm gate and most producers didn’t know there was a better way of doing things. Growing up through multiple extended droughts I found that with a simple change in the management of animals a big impact can be made on a business’s bottom line.”

Bronte encourages women in the agricultural industry to grab every opportunity and take charge of their own growth.

Bronte’s a member of the Australian Cattle Council, Farming Futures Network and AgForce. She completed the Future Women, Future Proof program last year and was awarded the ‘best on grounds’ Nutrien staff member award for the 2022 Nutrien Classic.
