Nutrien Ag Solutions Ballarat hosts launch of Australia's bagMUSTER® initiative
Phase one of the program's national launch recently took place at the Nutrien Ag Solutions Ballarat branch. bagMUSTER® is a new initiative of CropLife Australia, developed in partnership with the Australian Seed Foundation and delivered and managed by AgSafe, a not-for-profit organisation.
AgSafe's General Manager, Alicia Garden said, "We've taken the best of drumMUSTER® and are elevating the existing infrastructure and relationships we've developed over 25 years of delivering CropLifes's existing stewardship programs.”
“As the program rolls out nationally over the coming years, bagMUSTER® has the potential to provide farmers and growers with hundreds of accessible collection points throughout regional and rural Australia. This will ensure that bags no matter where they are don't further burden our landfills, waterways and ecosystems."
Nutrien Ag Solutions Head of Safety and Risk and Director of AgSafe Richard Dovison said "joining forces with the bagMUSTER® program, Nutrien Ag Solutions is committed to minimising the environmental impact of agriculture by curbing the use of single-use polypropylene bags. These products, such as fertiliser and seed bags, will be collected and recycled into new items, effectively reducing waste and preventing landfill overflow."
"As a proud foundational partner, we are excited to contribute and look forward to witnessing the program achieving a level of nationwide success comparable to that of the renowned drumMUSTER® Nutrien Ag Solutions is committed to providing sustainability and community investment strategies and will continue to invest in solutions like bagMUSTER® that support the agricultural economy and preserve our natural environment for future generations," Mr Dovison continued.
