Get to know Jamie Taylor:

What is your role at Nutrien?

Branch Manager.

Where are you located?

Dubbo, NSW.

How long have you been with the company?

I started with the company 19 years ago as an agronomist and then worked as a merchandise manager/agronomist before accepting the role of Branch Manager 11 years ago.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Our region has a wide variety of farming enterprises, with a good contrast of cropping and livestock, so this means we work closely with our clients to reach the best solution unique to their needs and requirements. Most members of our team in the Dubbo Branch are longstanding employees who have all developed very strong relationships with our farmer customers over the years. As a team we play a really important role in the success of our local farming community.

What do you love about your local community?

I’m originally from Quirindi, south of Tamworth in NSW and relocated to Dubbo 19 years ago for the opportunity to be a local agronomist. Dubbo is such a great place to live and work, I have a young family and we really enjoy being part of this community. Dubbo has endured some very tough seasons with below average rainfall, so the contrast in 2020 was positive news for our farmers. Last year was also an extraordinary year as we safely managed Covid-19, fortunately our team was able to keep up with the increased demand for product due to our size and connection to the wider Nutrien network. There wasn’t a time that we couldn’t get our customers the product or service they required. I am also pleased to report that our team recorded zero safety incidents in 2020.

What does it mean to you to be recognised through the Our World Awards program?

This is an enormous achievement, but it is a combined effort. I have a team of great people that are very good at what they do. For us, we are here to support our customers during the tough times and the good times and that is exactly what we have done. I am very proud of what our branch has been able to achieve as a team.
