Footy and farming celebrate 50-year partnership
Under the partnership, Nutrien has donated in excess of $4.5million to CFWA to help keep bush footy alive from Broome all the way to Albany.
Nutrien Key Account Manager – West Steve Wright oversees the partnership with Country Football WA which supports senior and junior leagues across the state.
“Farming and footy are inextricably linked in the bush and Nutrien is so proud to build on our strong community ties by helping local clubs, players and supporters,” Mr Wright said.
“Footy clubs are the social fabric of many regional communities, often serving as the only social outing for outlying farmers who come into town each week to catch up with friends and family, throw their support behind the local team and stay connected to their community.
“Our support has always gone further than the farm. For us, rural and regional Australia is more than a place to do business – it’s been our home for more than 180 years. Our support for country Australia extends beyond the farm to the communities that support agriculture.”
CFWA President Mel Sulzberger said Nutrien’s support has been critical for the endurance of the code in country communities.

The 50-year partnership milestone between Nutrien Ag Solutions and Country Football WA was celebrated at a gala dinner in Perth on 2 August 2024.
