A career in agriculture extends beyond the farmgate

Nutrien Ag Solutions is searching for data analysts, developers, chemists and agronomists to lead the next wave of agricultural evolution.

Applications are now open for the Nutrien Ag Solutions 2023 Agronomy and Agribusiness Graduate Program.

Nutrien Ag Solutions Managing Director Rob Clayton says recruiting for the future of agriculture means addressing the changing skillsets required by the industry.

“It’s time to delete the stigma that you have to grow up on a farm to work in agriculture, because the reality is that food and fibre is relevant to every Australian,” says Mr Clayton.

“We know it’s innovation, technology and a strong commitment to sustainable practices that will take agriculture into the future. To achieve the growth the industry needs to secure food security here and across the globe, we welcome the new ideas and energy of young people into agriculture.

“Our agronomy graduates will be joining Nutrien’s team of more than 400 professional advisors right across the country that work side-by-side with farmers every day to improve their productivity and produce an environmentally and economically sustainable crop.

“We’re also excited to announce that 50 percent of the graduate roles we will be offering for 2023 are agribusiness positions. This includes opportunities to work with our sustainability, merchandise, insurance, digital, chemistry, product development and finance teams.”

Nutrien Ag Solutions Talent Attraction and Sourcing Manager Rose Climaco says the Program is focused on setting up graduates for a successful and fulfilling career in agriculture.

“Commencing in February 2023, our 24-month program allows graduates to accelerate their learning and develop the skills they need to excel in their chosen career path,” says Ms Climaco.

“Joining Nutrien’s global team of more than 23,000 people, our graduates have access to the world’s most professional, knowledgeable and experienced leaders right across the agriculture value chain.

“The great thing about working in the agriculture industry is its purpose-driven work. There’s a great satisfaction in knowing the work we do is helping to feed and clothe billions of people across the world,” says Ms Climaco.
